Teacher Librarian
Peel District School Board
Brampton, Ontario, Canada
Renee Shah Singh is a lifelong learner and has been a Peel educator for the greater part of the last decade. Her love of literature is grounded in the belief that good books and good stories include all our narratives. As such her work within the Peel District School Board focuses on the decolonization of libraries and the many spaces where we share our stories through various media forms. Most recently Renee is involved in the creation and curation of Indigenous learning experiences through working with educators at 4Canoes. She is also a contributing educator to TVO, having recently completed episodes for primary math lessons. The Teaching Librarian recently published an article written by Renee outlining the successes she’s had in decolonizing the library at Ingleborough Public School. For more information on the exciting projects with which Renee is involved, follow @IngleboroughLlC and @mrsshahsingh. Renee lives in Brampton with her husband and son.
