I've been fortunate enough to speak at conferences across North America including the American Library Association Annual Conference (ALA) and Ontario Library Association Super Conference about topics including youth services, continuing education, community development, along with equity, diversity, and inclusion. At the 2019 ALA Conference in Washington, D.C. I facilitated a training session teaching over 150 attendees how to foster youth advocacy through effective staff training which received positive feedback.
In addition to my fulltime career I have held the roles of Board-Member-at-Large for the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) along with Instructional Designer and Learning Facilitator for the American Library Association. In my role as facilitator, I led on-site and online training workshops across the United States of America for frontline library, government, and post-secondary staff. This included a seminar in Annapolis, Maryland on youth mental health and program development for vulnerable populations along with an e-course regarding adolescent development in North Carolina.
