Dr. Soxman began her career in healthcare as an intensive and coronary care nurse. She attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where she taught after her graduation. Specialty training was completed at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow in both the American College of Dentists and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists and manuscript reviewer for the journal, General Dentistry. She is a seminar instructor for general practice residencies at Allegheny General Hospital, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and pediatric residency at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Dr. Soxman has authored many articles for dental journals, is the editor of the 1st and 2nd editions of the Handbook of Clinical Techniques in Pediatric Dentistry and lead author for Anomalies of the Developing Dentition. Her conversational style of speaking incorporates a review of the dental literature with evidence-based recommendations and the realities of a pediatric practice, earning her national recognition as a leader in continuing education. She maintains a private practice in pediatric dentistry in Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
