One of the industry’s top energy bankers, Jon Cox jumped from Morgan Stanley after eight years to run all oil-and-gas investment banking out of JPMorgan’s Houston office. He has been at J.P. Morgan for the last 6 years, currently forming strategic planning, communications, financial analysis and resource management for Firmwide Marketing to support a 600-person organization with a $200M+ operating budget.
Prior to his current role, he served as Product Director for strategic initiatives, performing development and marketing of new consumer banking and credit card products. Prior to Chase Bank marketing, Jon worked in Auto Finance where he managed teams delivering on technology investments. He joined the firm in its office of military & veterans affairs leading programs to increase access to capital for veteran-owned small businesses while sponsoring nation-wide entrepreneurship initiatives in partnership with the JPMorgan Chase Foundation.
Before joining JPMorgan, Jon worked in the energy sector for seven years in various roles at Siemens and ExxonMobil where he grew in positions supporting domestic nuclear power generation and international oil and gas development, respectively. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Navy for eight years where he was an officer and nuclear engineer on fast-attack submarines.
Jon has a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Business Administration from Rollins College. He enjoys living and playing in Jersey City with his wife and son.
