Dr. Rian Dickstein is a senior physician and urologic oncologist with Chesapeake Urology and serves as Director of its Bladder Cancer program. In addition, Dr. Dickstein is the Chief of Urology at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC) and the Medical Director of Genitourinary Oncology at BWMC’s Tate Cancer Center.
Dr. Dickstein also is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has numerous peer reviewed publications, is a reviewer for various journal articles, and has received several achievement awards.
Dr. Dickstein’s practice focuses on all urologic cancer, but particularly non-invasive and locally advanced bladder cancer. His expertise also includes the treatment kidney cancer (both small and locally advanced tumors), and prostate cancer (including primary and salvage surgery for complex cases).
Dr. Dickstein received his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School – University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He performed his residency training at Boston Medical Center and completed a fellowship at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Dickstein is a member of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network’s (BCAN) Scientific Advisory Board. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
