Dr. Autorino is Professor of Urology & Director of Urologic Oncology in the Division of Urology at VCU Heath and Lead of the GU disease working group at VCU Massey Cancer Center. He graduated cum laude, completed Urology residency training, and obtained a PhD degree in Urological Sciences at University of Naples (Italy). In 2010, Dr. Autorino moved to the USA where he completed a 2-year Research Fellowship in Urology, and then a 2-year Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy & Robotic Surgery at the Glickman Urological Institute, Cleveland Clinic. After fellowship training, he stayed in Cleveland, working for 3 years at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, before moving to VCU Health in Richmond, VA. Dr. Autorino received several awards along the course of his academic career, including the Italian Matula Award by the Italian Society of Urology in 2012 and the Hans Marberger Award at the annual EAU meeting in 2017. He is Associate Editor for Minerva Urol Nephrol, Central Eur J Urol, and Urol Video Journal. He also serves as editorial board member multiple journals, including Eur Urol, Eur Urol Focus, World J Urol, BJU Int, Therapautic Advances in Urology, and Urology Practice. Dr. Autorino co-authored over 480 PubMed-indexed publications, and edited several books. His current Scopus h-index is 57. His main area of research are clinical outcomes in the field of genitourinary malignancies and robotic assisted surgery.
