Stephen J. Canon, M.D. is a board-certified urologist with a subspecialty certification in pediatric urology who treats patients at both Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Arkansas Children’s Northwest Hospital. He also is Chief of Pediatric Urology at Arkansas Children's Hospital, Director of Physician Operations for Arkansas Children’s Medical Group, and the 2010 inaugural recipient of the Arkansas Children's Hospital Auxiliary and John F. Redman, M.D., Endowed Chair in Pediatric Urology. Dr. Canon serves as a Clinical Associate Professor for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Urology Department as well.
Dr. Canon received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed his residency in urology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. He then completed a Pediatric Urology Fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Canon provides treatment for all pediatric urological conditions including hypospadias, hydronephrosis, vesicoureteral reflux, disorders of sexual development, spina bifida, and kidney stones.
He also enjoys teaching and research with specific interests in hypospadias, minimally invasive surgery in pediatric urology, pediatric voiding dysfunction, and usage of technology to improve patient care.
