Matthew Christman, MD, is a Commander in the U.S. Navy with 16 years of service. He is currently Associate Professor of Surgery with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and serves as the Urology Residency Program Director at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). He completed his residency at NMCSD and proceeded on to fellowship in pediatric urology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Christman has research interests in pediatric urology, medical education, and healthcare quality, and he recently completed a Master of Engineering degree in Health Systems Engineering. He currently serves as the Chair of the American Urological Association Young Urologists Committee. He is a happily married father of three and enjoys coaching rec league soccer in San Diego.
