Kevin R. Loughlin, MD, is a Professor of Surgery (Urology) Emeritus at Harvard Medical School;. He is actively involved in bladder cancer research and has lectured nationally and internationally on urologic research topics. Dr. Loughlin is a graduate of Princeton University, received his medical degree from New York Medical College and his MBA from Boston University. In addition, he holds an honorary master's degree from Harvard University.
Dr. Loughlin served as secretary of the New England Section of the AUA from 2002-2007 and as president from 2008-2009. He is a served on numerous AUA committees including The Journal of Urology Editorial Board, Research Council, and Urologic, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imaging Committee. Dr. Loughlin has served as a member of the AUA board of directors, and has been a trustee of the American Board of Urology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Loughlin has written more than 250 scientific publications and authored or edited 10 books. He has served on numerous editorial boards, including The Journal of Urology, Urology, the Canadian Journal of Urology, Urologic Oncology, and AUA News. Dr. Loughlin received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New England Section of the AUA and the Alumnus Medal of Honor Award from New York Medical College. Dr. Loughlin has been a member of the AUA since 1989.
