Dr. Joshua A Broghammer is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dr. Broghammer earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Iowa. He then completed his urology residency from Wayne State University at the Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Kansas, he completed a fellowship in trauma and genitourinary reconstructive surgery at the University of Washington's Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Broghammer is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Dr. Broghammer sereves as a member of the American College of Surgeons Health Policy and Advocacy Group.
Dr. Broghammer has published several peer reviewed articles on urologic trauma and is currently actively involved in research. He has completed numerous presentations at both regional and national levels in the field of urologic trauma and genital reconstructive surgery. As a founding member of the Trauma and Urologic Reconstructive Network, Dr. Broghammer is participating in cutting edge, collaborative research with multiple hospitals across the country to help improve patient care.
Dr. Broghammer specializes in the treatment of injuries related to trauma including urethral stricture disease, renal injuries, ureteral strictures, genital injuries, and bladder injuries. He performs prosthetic surgery for prostate cancer related complications including penile prosthesis for erectile dysfunction, artificial urinary sphincter (AUS), and male sling for incontinence in addition to the treatment of male voiding dysfunction. Dr. Broghammer also performs surgical correction of Peyronie's disease and treatment of buried penis.
