Dr. Art A. Ambrosio is a board-certified Head & Neck Surgeon with Kaiser Permanente Orange County Medical Center (Anaheim & Irvine) and has a clinical interest in a wide variety of ears, nose, and throat disorders - including chronic disease of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, nose and sinuses, pediatric sleep disorders, and maxillofacial trauma reconstruction.
Following premedical studies in Neuroscience at UCLA and studying medicine at the Uniformed Services University, he completed his Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery internship and residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Additionally, he received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He most recently was part of the medical groups at Naval Medical Center San Diego, USNS MERCY (T-AH 19) Hospital Ship, and Rady Children's Specialists San Diego (CPMG).
His current research interests include new applications of telemedicine, head and neck trauma management, and population-based analysis of otolaryngic disease.
Among professional activities, Dr. Ambrosio serves on the Board of Governors for the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), is part of the faculty for UC Irvine School of Medicine, and holds a commission as a Commander in the United States Navy Reserve.
