Dr. Cesar Muñoz is Clinical Pharmacy Manager for Ambulatory Care Services at Harris Health System in Houston, Texas. He is board certified in Pharmacotherapy and Ambulatory Care through the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. After completing a general pharmacy practice residency at Harris Count Hospital District in 2005, he worked as a clinical pharmacist focusing on dispensing and managing a pharmacist-managed diabetes clinic. He pursued additional education and training and was promoted to clinical pharmacy specialist in 2008. From 2008 through 2017, he initiated chronic disease medication management services at three outpatient clinics and co-managed the pharmacist-led outpatient anticoagulation clinic at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. He was promoted to Clinical Pharmacy Manager January 2017 and utilized his expertise to oversee the expansion of clinical pharmacy services and initiation of an ASHP Accredited Post-Graduate Year 2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency program, of which he is the Residency Program Director.
Dr. Muñoz is passionate about patient care, particularly for individuals that are uninsured or underinsured, as well as training the next generation of pharmacy learners. He shares that passion with his team and works diligently to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care every time. Aside for being an active pharmacist preceptor for the past 16 years, he has conducted lectures on pharmacotherapy topics at the colleges of pharmacy at Texas Southern University, University of Houston, and Texas A&M University.
Dr. Muñoz enjoys spending time with family and traveling, mostly to warmer environments. He watches more television than he should but balances that with reading and writing non-fiction stories.
