Karin L. Bolte, J.D., Director, Health Policy, American Pharmacists Association
Karin Bolte brings over 25 years’ experience in the health policy and advocacy arenas to her position as the Director, Health Policy at the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). As part of the Government Affairs team, Karin works to advance APhA’s public policy agenda and advocate APhA’s position to federal agencies, Congress, the Administration, and the states. Karin’s areas of responsibility include FDA issues, pain management and substance use disorder/opioid use disorder, health IT, telehealth, and other issues of importance to the pharmacy profession.
Prior to joining APhA, Karin worked at the National Consumers League (NCL) as the Senior Director, Health Policy where she directed NCL’s health policy and advocacy work on a broad range of health issues. She spent the majority of her career at Mager & Associates, where she represented pharmaceutical, medical device, and life sciences companies, nonprofits, and patient organizations on a variety of legislative, regulatory, and advocacy initiatives. She started her career as a Regulatory Counsel at the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Health Affairs.
Karin received her JD degree from the George Washington University Law School, and her BA degree cum laude from Duke University.
