Betsy Marshall is on the Board of Directors for the Houston Apartment Association. She serves at the Education Committee Chair and has been in property operations for over 20 years. She has worked on the supplier side and the management side, providing a relatable background for multifamily personnel.
Her keen eye for lease analysis, renewal management and all aspects of asset management provides a great financial and detailed overview to operations.
Her career began at AIMCO, one of the largest owners and operators of apartment homes in the country. She served in many roles during her nine-year tenure, including Leasing Consultant, eBusiness Coordinator, and Community Manager. She ultimately found her niche serving as a Turnaround Specialist, traveling the Houston area stabilizing underperforming assets. Betsy went on to serve in management roles with Adara and IMT Residential.
She has been certified as a National Apartment Association Education Faculty, earned her Certified Apartment Manager designation and was named one of Houston Apartment Association’s Top 40 Professionals Under Forty. She is an active member of the Houston Apartment Association, serving on various committees. Her favorite committee to be part of is the Education Advisory Council, a group tasked with developing current and emerging leaders in the multi-family industry. She enjoys training, volunteering her time to teach HAA’s Leasing 101 course and various NALP certification modules. Betsy has a BA in Management from University of Houston and is active in her local community and with her amazing children.
