LCDR Lipscomb was born in the Charleston, SC and lived there until she graduated from High School from Bishop England in 2001. She then attended college at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. After graduation from college in 2004 and earning a Bachelor’s in Science Degree, she spent 2 years working in a and preparing for applications to Medical School. LCDR Lipscomb was selected for the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) and earned her commission in 2006. She then attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. Upon completion of Medical school in 2010, earning a degree in Medicine, she then went on to complete her surgical internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2011. She then spent 2 years at Command Naval Surface Force Atlantic (COMNAVSURFLANT) as the General Medical Officer (GMO) to 20 Independent Duty Corpsmen (IDC) on 20 different ships. She was then accepted to Urology Residency and completed this training at the University of Wisconsin in Madison as part of Duty Under Instruction program. In 2017 she was assigned to Fort Belvoir Community Hospital for 3 years as an attending Urologist. She became fully board certified in February 2019. She is currently stationed at Naval Hospital Rota in Spain. She is currently serving as the Department Head of Urology and as the Credentials Chair for the Naval Medical Readiness and Training Center Rota, Spain. LCDR Lipscomb’s awards and decoration include a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and a Joint Service Commendation Medal.
