Alicia Hughes is responsible for the management and implementation of local prevention services and statewide projects, which includes overseeing new initiatives to address opioids, marijuana and underage drinking through management of discretionary grants and prevention programming.
Alicia has a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Organizational Management from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and Addiction Counseling from California State University Fullerton. She has been working in the prevention field since 2011 and is passionate about developing programs and trainings to influence the prevention workforce. Alicia co-leads the Opioid Prevention Workgroup that reports to the Washington State Opioid Response Workgroup. She oversees initiatives that prevents substance use disorder through the strategic direction and execution of the Washington State Prevention Plan and through the management of state, county and community-based prevention projects.
