Vice President
American Board of General Dentistry
Clarksville, Tennessee, United States
Dr. Anthony Carroccia is a proud graduate of a HBCU, Meharry Medical College. He served in the US Army before opening his own practice from scratch. Dr. Tony appreciates all organized dentistry to include the ADHA and has held leadership positions in the Academy of General Dentistry, the Tennessee Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the American Board of General Dentistry to name a few. He still practices four days a week and has lectured for half of his career at local, state and national levels having presented multiple lectures at the: ADA, AGD and ADHA.
Dr. Carroccia is a key opinion leader on nitrous oxide/oxygen sedation having authored articles and co-authored a dental hygiene textbook chapter on that topic in addition to webinars. Dr. Tony considers speaking at the Ether Dome at Massachusetts General Hospital to Anesthesiology residents one of his greatest moments in education.
He also speaks on anesthesia related topics, as well as dental materials and chemical dependency. As a clinician first and foremost, he can seamlessly blend humor and practicality into highlighting points that he calls, "real world applicable", while not over-relying on literature and losing his audience.
He is a Fellow of both the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists, as well as holding high accolades from two sedation organizations. He considers keeping two hygienists and his office manager happy over ten years each to be one of his most impressive feats next to his family.
