Leciel Bono, RDH-ER, MS is the Graduate Program Director and Assistant Professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at Idaho State University (ISU). Her research focus is on advocacy has been presented nationally and internationally. She is the recipient of the Olav Alvares Awards for Early Career Scholars Who Published Outstanding Articles in the Journal of Dental Education in 2018. From this research, she developed a theoretical advocacy model for dental hygiene. Additional research focuses on interprofessional education and special needs populations, more specifically autism spectrum disorder. She is a faculty member of the Interprofessional Evaluation Team at ISU and was accepted as Dental Hygiene LEND trainee in the Fall of 2108 for the Utah Regional Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities program. She is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association.
