Bret Connor has served as athenahealth's Chief Customer Officer since August 2017. He oversees the company's award-winning customer success organization, including client relationship management, customer support, onboarding, and integration and advisory services. His team is responsible for driving athenahealth's customer experience strategy and helping clients improve their clinical and financial performance, resulting in a more than 50% increase in client NPS scores from Q4'19 to Q4'20.
Prior to athenahealth, Bret served in executive leadership roles at VMware, Inc. and McKinsey & Company, and previously worked at Goldman Sachs, Commerzbank AG, and Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett.
Bret received his BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. He earned his MBA at Harvard Business School, where he was named a Baker Scholar. Bret lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with his wife and daughter.
