Professor of Emergency Medicine
University of California, San Francisco, California, United States
My academic path has been through graduate medical education for over 15 years. I am an educator and mentor for residents, fellows, and junior faculty, as well as a researcher and administrator. I am passionate about improving the clinical learning environment for trainees by engaging them in hospital-wide improvement projects and by improving different factors that affect the clinical workflow in the hospital. My work in diversity focuses on recruiting a diverse residency class every year and diverse faculty for our department. As a senior faculty and member of the promotion committee for the department, I have also been active in writing departmental letters supporting our faculty for promotion and awards, nominating faculty for awards, and sponsoring our faculty for different leadership positions throughout the institution. To support equity in medicine, I have led the hospital-wide improvement program for trainees at our county hospital, whose projects have improved the care of our underserved patient population and decreased injuries among our hospital staff.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
