Nathan Menke, M.D., Ph.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School. He obtained his medical degree from The Ohio State University School of Medicine and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed an Emergency Medicine residency at the Medical College of Virginia followed by a fellowship in Medical Toxicology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is board certified in Addiction Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Medical Toxicology.
Dr. Menke, joined the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan in 2021. He cares for patients suffering from substance use disorders in the inpatient setting as part of a multidisciplinary team. The inpatient Addiction Consult Team (ACT): initiates and titrates medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD); manages withdrawal from opioids, alcohol, and benzodiazepines; treats pain in patients with tolerance to opioids; and helps connect patients to drug and alcohol treatment.
