Mendi has received certification in VitalStim therapy and McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program, is CBIS certified and has received an internal certification for ReVital Cancer Rehab in head/neck cancer and brain cancer. Mendi has worked for Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation her entire career in all aspects of the continuum: acute care, subacute, inpatient rehab, home health, Day Neuro program and outpatient rehabilitation. She is currently the Outpatient Division Speech Pathology Program Coordinator throughout Texas and oversees the hiring, training, mentoring, staffing, program development and education of the speech pathologists. She has been appointed by ASHA, as a StAMP representative, State Advocate for Medicare Policy for the state of Texas. She also is co-chair of the TSHA Business Management Committee. She has lectured at the local, state, and national level on functional outcomes for the adult neurogenic population, and billing, coding and documentation standards. Mendi is a professional member of the National Academies of Practice, an organization that strives to advance interprofessional healthcare by fostering collaboration and advocating policies in the best interest of patients. Mendi’s clinical interests include: dysphagia, acquired brain injury, and oncology as well as the high level cognitively impaired patient.
