Anti-CRISPR(Acr) serves as a control element in CRISPR genome editing processes. However there are many other applications that require control outside of said usage. The development of any new protein structures is a time consuming process, especially if the new protein needs to have a specific function in relation to other proteins. Fortunately there are many ways to gather data about the protein structure and interactions, including physical experiments and computer simulations. By analyzing the structural similarities between Acr and other proteins we may be able to more efficiently design protein blockers.
