The subject of human anatomy is a critical subject in terms of the failure rate in many universities in the world, this attributed to the complexity and the large amount of new content for the student, so knowing the failure and how it affects the continuity of the student in the career, it is important to have new and better guidelines in the subject human anatomy. Our research was carried out during 2020 with a retrospective correlational design, in which the data of Physical Therapy students in the admission cohorts of the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 of the University of the Americas, Campus Santiago Centro, were analyzed. Chile. Of the 3 cohorts analyzed in this study, the cohort with the most gender differences between admission was that of 2019, with respect to failing, the cohort with the highest failing was that of 2019, while the highest percentage of desertion in relation to reprobate was the year 2018.Regarding what was seen in this study,  failing this subject individually or associated with another subject of the same semester, for students is frustrating which could be a condition for desertion, we know that desertion can have many aspects, but we do believe that by taking some remedial measures such as; creating support programs, optimizing the delivery of content, active learning methodologies, among others, could improve the results of the human anatomy.
