Bernd Richter successfully completed his diploma studies in electrical engineering at the TU Dresden in 2003 with a focus on information technology and microelectronics. He then became a research associate at Fraunhofer IPMS in Dresden in the area of system and IC design, specializing in the design and manufacture of OLED microdisplays and sensors based on organic-on-silicon technology. In 2010, he took over as head of the "Microdisplay Devices and Systems" group. After moving to Fraunhofer COMEDD, he headed the core competence "IC and System Design" from 2012, which was transferred to the department "IC and System Design" at Fraunhofer FEP from 2014. His research focus shifted more towards technology and integration of organics on silicon wafers in the further course, whereupon he became head of the department "Organic Microelectronic Devices" in 2017. He manages various industrial and research projects from the field of data glasses, microdisplays and sensors on a national and international level and is deputy head of the "Microdisplays and Sensors" division.
