Zong Qin received his bachelor's degrees in optical engineering and computer science, and PhD degree in mechanical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China in 2008 and 2013, respectively. After serving as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at National Chiao Tung University (Taiwan) from 2013 to 2015, he was working there as an Assistant Research Fellow from 2016 to 2019. At the end of 2019, he joined Sun Yat-Sen University (Guangzhou, China) as an Associate Professor.
Zong Qin’s research interests mainly include display system, display optics, and applied vision (e.g., VR/AR, 3D display, head-up displays, and flexible displays). In addition to more than 25 SCI-indexed papers published and more than 15 patents in different countries, he has received three Distinguished Paper Awards from SID Display Week, one Distinguished Paper Award from ICDT, and four awards from other international conferences. Also, he gave several invited talks at IDW, ICDT, IMID, IDMC, etc. He is now serving as a committee member of SID Display Week and SID China.
