I was born in Shiga, Japan in 1964. I received the B.S. and M.S. degree in engineering science from the Osaka University in 1988 and in 1990, respectively.
In 1990, I joined the Central Research Laboratory, Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan. After relocating to the business unit, I joined Ushio, Inc. in Shizuoka, Japan in 2020 through Opnext, Inc. and Ushio Opto Semiconductors, Inc.. During this time, I have been consistently engaged in research and development of Red and Near Infrared semiconductor lasers.
