Mr. Zhi-Bo Sun (SID Student Membership) received his bachelor’s degree from Optical Science and Engineering in Zhejiang University in 2016. Since 2016, he has been working and learning in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a PhD candidate supervised by Prof. Hoi-Sing Kwok and Prof. Abhishek Kumar Srivastava. His research field is the amplitude and phase modulation device using passive retardation film (Received Distinguished Student Paper Award, ICDT2019, China) and ferroelectric liquid crystal including the broadband quarter wave plate, circular polarizer and high pixel density display technology used in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. To date, he has published 17 articles and holds 3 patents/patent applications. He won the Best Oral Presentation Award, PGWS for 3 times from 2017 to 2019. In 2020, he received the SENG Academic Award, HKUST.
