Graduating from Han Yang University, Korea in 1997 in Industrial Engineering, he also majored in Human factors (Ergonomics) at the same university for his master’s degree. In 1999, he started to work in LG Philips LCD (Later, changed to LG Display) and his research area in the company has been to enhance image quality of display devices. In 2004, he started his PhD degree in the Department of Colour and Polymer Chemistry, University of Leeds, UK until 2008. He came back to LG Display Co., Ltd in 2008, and now he is working as the head of Image Quality Department in the company. In 2005, he received Palmar award from Physics research association of Great Britain and in 2008, the Merk award for outstanding scientific contribution. He also received a Korean government award in 2010 and in 2012, the SEMI FPD recognition award. Dr. Don Gyou Lee is currently an active member of International Committee for Display Metrology (ICDM) where he has worked as the gamma subcommittee chair since 2008 and was one of Executive Committee from 2018 to 2019. He has also worked as a national committee member of International Standard Organization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International Flat Panel Display (SEMI FPD).
