Shinichi Komura received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Kyoto University in 1985 and 1987, respectively. Later, he received his Ph. D. degree from the University of Sheffield in 2000. In 1987, he joined Hitachi Research Laboratory of Hitachi, Ltd. He has experience in the field of LCD technology R&D. He is presently at R&D Division, Japan Display Inc. He is responsible for managing the research and development of novel LCD technologies.
