Ankur Samanta is a research fellow at the R42 Institute. He is one of the founding members of The Holodeck Initiative, a joint venture between VividQ and the R42 Group, developing real-time, 3D holographic conferencing technology. He is also a Computer Engineering student at the University of Toronto, specializing in AI, Robotics, and Mechatronics. His most recent work has been in 3D holography, autonomous vehicles, and computational neuroscience. He also recently published the book 'What is Emotional AI?', covering the field of affective computing, his research in the area, and discussions on the impact of the field and more notably, sentient AI, on our society as a whole.
