Qin Zong, PhD

Dr. Zong Qin received his bachelor's degrees in optical engineering and computer science, and Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China in 2008 and 2013, respectively. After serving as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at National Chiao Tung University (Taiwan) from 2013 to 2015, he worked there as an Assistant Research Fellow from 2016 to 2019. At the end of 2019, he joined Sun Yat-Sen University (Guangzhou) as an Associate Professor.
Dr. Qin's research interests mainly include VR/AR, 3D display, applied vision, vehicle display, e-paper and flexible displays. He has more than 30 SCI-indexed papers published (including two Editor's Picks) and more than 40 international conference papers, as well as more than 30 patents in different countries. He received three Distinguished Paper Awards from SID Display Week, the most important conference in the display field, and five Distinguished Paper Awards from other international conferences including ICDT. Also, he gave several invited talks at IDW, ICDT, IMID, IDMC, IPC, etc., and gave a 90-min Seminar Talk at SID Display Week 2021 that reviewed the light field display technology. He is now serving as a committee member of SID Display Week and SID China and an Associate Editor of the Journal of SID.
