For the strong demand of large size and high resolution display, microLED tiling technologies are frequently studied to realize large size TV and unlimited aspect ratio public information signage/display application. Among them, glass substrate has many properties such as good thermal stability, low thickness variation, ultra high resistivity and matured TFT array manufacturability. High temperature Oxide/LTPS (Low Temperature Poly Silicon) process could be used for small pixel pitch and integrate gate driving solution directly on array. In this article, we will discuss the challenges and design concepts of each seamless tiling technologies. A 27” seamless tiling unit by using LTPS TFT active matrix structure on glass substrates will be presented.
