microLED displays continue to be a tantalizing option for display manufacturers and consumers alike, due to the many advantages and consumer applications (e.g., AR and VR) that microLED offers. However, the industry continues to struggle with some fundamental problems in testing and inspection, which is impeding commercialization of this promising technology. Recent advancements in microLED testing and inspection capabilities provide a path forward. This paper contains an overview of the technical challenges facing the microLED industry and the solutions that have recently been developed to address them.
