A self-cracking structure is introduced to construct a stretchable electrophoretic e-paper display device. Instead of the conventional sandwich structure, the proposed device directly forms electrodes upon the display layer without laminating an extra layer. This structure avoids layer-to-layer mismatch under the long-term loading cycles and exhibits high stretchability and robustness. A prototype is demonstrated to simultaneously have stretchable, washable, and re-writable features, which provides a new paradigm for future wearable electronics.
