In this paper, we present a novel integrated light-independent sensor which can be used to detect the illuminance and color temperature of the ambient light. Based on the low temperature polysilicon (LTPS) thin film transistor (TFT) process and photosensitivity of a-Si, the sensor can realize 0-10K lux of the monitor range and 0.5 lux/step. Meanwhile, it can identify low color temperature ( <3500K), medium color temperature (3500K~6500K) and high color temperature (>6500K). The LCD with this light sensor will adjust brightness and color temperature adaptively in multiple stages (?3 stages). It saves more space for terminal devices which will also facilitates the full screen display.
