We have successfully developed a novel near-infrared (NIR) polarizer fabricated from the dichroic dyes. Unlike conventional wire-grid polarizers, it shows transparency in the visible region and wavelength tunability. The application to iris pattern imaging improved by eliminating the reflected light from the cornea surface is demonstrated.
