A flat-panel three-dimensional (3D) holographic display is proposed using a steering backlight unit and a holographic video processor. For the steering backlight unit, a beam deflector and a coherent backlight unit are integrated. The hologram processor is implemented as a sing-chip FPGA. Our prototype shows high-resolution holographic display that is slim at 10 cm and has an improved viewing angle.
