Peri-implant soft-tissue deficiencies may be treated through a variety of approaches. The Vestibular Incision Subperiosteal Tunnel Access (VISTA) technique has a number of advantages that make it suitable for peri-implant soft-tissue regeneration. This presentation and simulated exercise are designed to provide introductory practical experience with the VISTA technique for peri-implant mucosal augmentation. A variety of clinical problems that can be treated with VISTA will be discussed and addressed by the simulated exercises.
There will be a refreshment break from 3 – 3:30 p.m.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
Discuss the rationale and protocol for VISTA to regenerate peri-implant mucosal tissues.
Discuss the clinical problems including treatment of peri-implant mucosal dehiscence, mucosal phenotype conversion therapy and extraction socket management.
Identify the selection of appropriate materials such as connective tissue (palate and tuberosity), acellular dermis allograft, collagen matrix xenograft, platelet-fibrin concentrates and growth factors.
