Session Description: As organizations strive for greater diversity in leadership, The Arc of Anchorage considers this particularly important given their mission to support and empower people with disabilities. In this session, you will learn strategies used to increase inclusion of people with disabilities in leadership roles. The Arc of Anchorage fosters self-advocacy for these leaders and makes these skills central to their entire culture.
Learning Objectives:
Broaden self advocacy by increasing the abilities of teaching upper management the skills needed to embrace the movement towards increasing self-advocacy.
Learn how to advance the culture by moving from person centered to person led, by people with disabilities.
Recognize that people with disabilities are needed in management and leadership roles in order to improve the service delivery.
