Session Description: This session will explore Tennessee’s unique Center for Decision-Making Support, which enhances understanding of decision-making supports and an individual’s ability to exercise autonomy. Presenters will share the history leading to the development of the Center. Attendees will receive a virtual tour of the website and learn how it fits into the overall model, which encompasses work from the individual to the systemic levels. A self-advocate and attorney will discuss the personal benefits of conservatorship reversal and the criticality of individual casework in furthering the Center’s overall mission.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the four pillars of the Center for Decision-Making Support.
Understand how to use the LifeCourse Decision-Making Support tool for identifying decision-making support needs.
State how a conservatorship reversal case supports the other three pillars of the Center.
