Dr. Maria Danieli was born in Milan, Italy, where she attended Medical School at Università Statale degli Studi di Milano. From 2015 to 2018 she was an intern at Ospedale Niguarda Ca’ Granda, General Surgery and Transplant Unit, where she attended clinical and surgical activities and she actively participated in research projects which resulted in multiple papers, including some published in high-impact journals. As a medical student, she also completed a 1-month observership program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center, Division of Liver Trasplantation. In 2018 she was awarded with honours her MD certification with a thesis titled: “Experimental validation of a new staging and priority-assignment model for liver transplantation in patients with transplantable HCC”. Since 2018, she has attended Sarcoma Service at the Department of Surgery, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milano, Italy being involved in clinical activities as well as in research projects. Her clinical research activity is mainly focused on the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas of the extremities. Dr. Danieli is currently a resident in General Surgery at Università Statale degli Studi di Milano, a five-year program she has started in November 2019.
