Tanya Heim has a BS in Animal Sciences from Penn State and a Masters of Science in Biology from Youngstown State. she worked with animals for many years (at a clinical diagnostic lab, zoo, and veterinary hospital) before pursuing a future in biomedical research. Her Masters thesis focused on the use of platelet-rich plasma and mesenchymal stem cells for abdominal hernia repairs. At the University of Pittsburgh she has worked with a variety of different labs whose work includes liver transplantation perfusion alternatives, breast cancer cell line and PDX development, and exploration into the treatment of metastatic sarcoma.Sarcoma. Tanya also teaches introductory Anatomy & Physiology course for Utica University virtually.
