I am a surgeon scientist with a translational research lab at UCLA focused on the discovery of unique metabolic dependencies in sarcoma, and specifically how cancer cell metabolism may drive a transitional state from well-differentiated (WD) to dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DD LPS). This year our poster contrasts the mitochondrial phenotype of WD and DDLPS, and highlights the susceptibility of DDLPS to complex 1 inhibition. Our goal is to apply this knowledge towards drug development and early phase clinical trials.
