I am Sarah Di Somma. I am a PostDoc at Unit of Immunotherapy of Human Tumors, Department of Research, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (Milan). My interest in the field of cancer immunology has arisen during my undergraduate study. My master thesis (2014) focused on pre-clinical evaluation of oncolytic viruses for cancer immunotherapy. During my PhD (2015-2018) in Clinical and Experimental Medicine at University of Naples Federico II (Naples), I had the opportunity to rotate in two different laboratories. I continued to work on oncolytic viruses, but I focused also on defining the role of trained immunity in health and disease conditions. In 2019, I was awarded a two years FIRC-AIRC fellowship that supported my research on definition of the effect of oncolytic virus treatment in breast cancer microenvironment. In April 2021, I have moved to Milan. My research activity now focuses on the definition of immune signature in soft tissue sarcoma (STS) immunity.
