I am a pediatric oncologist at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, with a specialized clinical and research interest in the management of children with rare solid tumors, which includes germ cell tumors, retinoblastoma, and liver tumors. I am currently the vice-chair of the Germ Cell Tumor Committee, and a committee member of the Retinoblastoma Committee, at the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the NCTN cooperative group that coordinates clinical trials for children with cancer. I am co-chair of AGCT1531, a large international randomized phase III clinical trial for children with germ cell tumors. I am also an investigator on STEP-RB, an institutional phase I study of a novel topotecan chemo-plaque for the treatment of children with retinoblastoma. My research goal is to contribute to the development of improved treatments and outcomes for children with rare solid tumors through the design, leadership, and conduct of clinical trials.
