Medical Oncologist

Dr. Christine Simmons (she/her) is a medical oncologist at BC Cancer, Vancouver specializing in sarcoma and breast cancer. She is a Clinical Associate Professor in the faculty of medicine at the University of British Columbia. She is the Provincial Chair for the Sarcoma Tumour Group in British Columbia, Canada, and is the founder and chair of the Sarcoma Outcomes Unit. She completed her oncology training in Toronto with fellowship at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. She obtained a Master's in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto and is involved in clinical trial protocol development as a member of the Sarcoma and Quality of Life committees within the Canadian Clinical Trials Group (CCTG). In addition to the above, she is the Program Director for Medical Oncology Training Program at University of British Columbia. In 2010, she developed and founded the not-for-profit organization "Women in Cancer" with the intent of improving mentorship connections amongst medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists and oncology reserachers.
