Prof. Bruno Fuchs, MD PhD, is a sarcoma surgeon from Switzerland. After completion of his medical school in Zurich, he received his basic orthopedic training at the Universities of Zurich and Bern in Switzerland, before he was selected for the Ivins Orthopedic Oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA. After its completion, he obtained a PhD in Molecular Tumor Biology at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, and was also awarded an Assistant Professorship. He moved back to Switzerland to become professor for sarcoma surgery and to develop a sarcoma research program at his Alma mater. He founded the Swiss Sarcoma Network, defined quality indicators of sarcoma care together with an international network of sarcoma experts. He developped interoperable digital platform specifically focusing on sarcoma quality indicators reperesenting the entire longitudinal care cycle of the patient. These longitudinal absolute routine structured real-world-time data (LARSRWTD) will be used to apply deep learning algorithms to ultimately realize precision care. Prof.Fuchs also founded the Sarcoma Academy, an international educational program with webinars of selected multidisciplinary topics and forums for multidisciplinary as well as orthopedic oncology case discussions.
