For the past 4 years, I have been involved in sarcoma research ranging from screening for IDH mutations in chondrosarcoma to identifying the DNA methylation patterns in malignant peripheral nerve heath tumours, resulting in five peer-reviewed publications in the last two years.
Since joining the ESF CCS Programme in December, I have been identifying and preparing tumour samples for various forms of sequencing, including whole genome, DNA methylation, and RNA sequencing. I am also the biobank coordinator for the programme and have been engaging with biobanks across the UK and Europe, with the aim of procuring more CCS samples for genomic analysis.
In the coming year, I plan to engage with additional biobanks worldwide to further increase the diversity of the CCS cohort, recruit new patients to the study, and continue to generate further data from the current cohort. I will also be trained to undertake analysis of some of the sequencing data generated so far. I plan on applying these skills in the pursuit of a higher degree in studying the genomics of CCS.
