Rosa Álvarez MD was born in Pamplona, Spain, in 1974. He received his MD degree from Navarra University in 1998 and then completed his residency training in Medical Oncology at Gregorio Marañon Hospital – Madrid.
From 2003 to 2005 she worked as an oncologist in various hospitals around Sapin.
Since 2005 she has been working as an attending physician specializing in thoracic, head, and neck cancer and sarcoma. Dr. Rosa Álvarez has a lifetime professional dedication to patient care and research in lung cancer and sarcomas. She is the coordinator of the Thoracic Tumors and Sarcomas Unit of the Medical Oncology Service at the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón, a national reference center for the management of sarcomas (CSUR) and a member of the EURACAN network. Participation in more than 100 clinical trials as principal investigator or collaborator. Important teaching work, as a collaborating professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, director of the master's degree in musculoskeletal tumors of the Spanish Sarcoma Research Group (GEIS) in collaboration with the European University of Madrid (UEM), and author of various clinical guidelines on the management of sarcomas.
Member of the Executive Committee of GEIS, Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM), CTOS, and European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).
